The Positive Things About Arranged Marriages

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
by Steven Wilkins

In an arranged marriage, the choice of marriage partner is not left up to the people who are marrying. Instead, the marriage is arranged by the parents of the couple. In some cases, the marriage may be arranged based on recommendations of friends or family.

For those who have had trouble finding a spouse on their own, arranged marriage can be most convenient. Sometimes the parents of a couple will consider the couple’s wishes before making or accepting a proposal but this is not always the case.

In most cases with modern arranged marriages, the marriages are arranged quite informally. Parents either go through a marriage bureau or send a response to a matrimonial advertisement. Parents compile a bunch of information about their child, such as a picture, description of educational and family background, and a list of hobbies and interests, and send this in as the response.

Once a tentative matching up is made, a meeting is arranged between the couple. In most cases, they are also permitted to court. In several countries in Asia, arranged marriage is very common. In the United States, also, there are certain cultures who frequently rely on this form of matchmaking.

A very recent trend in arranged marriage is to find a spouse for the young person online. This method involves sending a profile to a matrimonial website and waiting for a match. The individuals then get in touch by phone or email and get to know one another in this manner.

Arranged marriage, with its emphasis on compatibility in religious, educational, and financial backgrounds, is most convenient. It’s also often pleasing to the parents, since they have approved or even decided on the choice of partner.

When parents arrange a marriage based on business needs instead, for instance to grow and expand a business, this often fails. These relationships are need based, not compatibility based. For the people involved, this is often a last-ditch choice.

Comparatively speaking, the divorce rate in arranged marriages is quite low. There are plenty of cases where a couple that started out in an arranged marriage ended up falling madly in love with one another, also.

Help For PeopleWorking On Their Wedding

There are many ways you can personalize your marriage ceremony invitations without spending a lot of money to do so. The internet and customized printing technology has made it simpler and less expensive to make tailor-made cards and postage stamps that will add a special touch. Here are a couple of ideas on how you can utilize this technology when preparing for your own marriage.

After you choose a day, the first thing that gets mailed out are save the date cards. Save the dates are mailed out before a formal invitation and are used to let invitees, particularly those who are coming from far away, know your wedding ceremony date far in advance. The problem with these cards is that several of them can get thrown away. Because of this, several people choose to use magnets instead of paper.

Save the date photo magnets are more likely to be placed on the refrigerator than they are to be thrown away. This is also a great chance to show off your engagement picture to everyone at once. If you haven’t taken engagement photos, any pic of the two of you will be fine. Of course you can buy magnets that just say the date, but those aren’t very individualized.

Not many people put much thought into the stamp they will use with their invitations and save the date cards. And that is understandable. With so many wedding preparations to make, you aren’t going to have time for every last detail. But a personal marriage ceremony stamp is actually quite simple to buy. You may wish to get one that has your initials. Or you might prefer to go with a common one that shows wedding rings or flowers. If you are buying your items from a print on demand shop, you should see if they have matching stamps.

These items can be bought in different types of stores. Traditional places do sell personalization, but their prices can be the highest. A instand printing shop is likely to have cheaper prices. You can select from designs uploaded by others and just fill in the relevant names and dates. If you have design skills, you can make your own. This is normally the least pricey option, but it is also the most time consuming.

Are these things required for a perfect marriage? Of course not, but they are nice to have. If you are planning to make a scrapbook, you’ll be able to keep these for all time to help you remember the day that you married.

Event Space Reservations New York

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
by Trevor Weir

Have you ever gone out for an evening with the love of your life and had an absolutely “one of a kind” lifetime experience? The kind of romantic night in New York where absolutely everything went right and nothing could go wrong?

Every single part of that gorgeous evening just happened so extraordinarily smoothly that your love thought it was magic? The kind of fantasy evening when nothing could go wrong and not a stray hair was out of place.

The kind of warm light night where you walk out of your Manhattan condominium with your love in tow, the silent elevator door opens before you press the button, the concierge downstairs has the taxi door open, and “wonders of wonders” the taxi driver immediately knows exactly the right route to get past the traffic.

Apparently nothing can go wrong and nothing does. The show that night is exquisite, your reservations are accepted immediately at the fine restaurant, the dinner is perfect - shall I go on?

And right down to that special magical moment when you both come out of the restaurant look up and see an incredible full moon giving everything an other worldly type majestic glow, you are sure that Murphy, the coincidence spoiler, must be somewhere near just hating himself.

I would like to tell you that this is all within the domain of an impeccable event planner but the truth is that some of those 10 perfect things had to be coincidental, right? Or were they?

Well, if you have had a night like this and quite seriously didn’t plan it, Kudos my fortunate friend, you were either born with a silver spoon in mouth or you just got lucky.

Meticulous event planning is how these things are done, especially in a bustling metropolis like London or Paris. Looking at the list of 10 “things that just happened to fall into place” that night, you would have found that 3 or 4 of them might have been intermediate events that required 4-5 smaller details to be in place in order to work super smoothly.

If you hire a well known taxi limousine service to meet you at exactly 7pm in front of your condo or hotel and be there 3 minutes ahead of time, then that should happen. If you back that up, by having the concierge or security ensure that it is happening, then it really will. If, in advance, you tipped the security guard to open the elevator on the 14th floor at exactly 6:57 and texted her 30 seconds in advance it should happen.

If you pre-paid online and pre-tipped the door man that you know at the show to let you walk past the other waiting patrons with the love of your life on your arm, like a VIP, it should happen.

If your reservations were really made in advancethen confirmed and you had let security and the most excellent maitre’d know that you were really confirming at 9:45 then walking past the other patrons for the second time that night might happen once again. Using a text message to get the split second timing wouldn’t hurt either.

Ok, I can hear you all chuckling already and asking, “How about that full moon, event?” I would answer, take your love out when you know there will be a full moon, duh?

A Wedding Magician : Fantastic Thoughts And Ideas For A Day To Fondly Recall

by Andrew Edmonds

Having a magician at your wedding may be a little out of the ordinary, but take a little time to think about some of the weddings you may have attended in the recent past and you start to realize that having a wedding magician as the master of ceremonies makes a lot of sense.

Once the ceremony itself is over and the guests are left to negotiate their way to the reception venue, the bride and groom are whisked off by the best man and bridesmaids to be photographed. As photographs form such an integral part of one’s wedding memories that these certainly cannot be rushed. Our newlyweds cannot be distracted by the thought that the needs of friends and family, who are here to support and celebrate with them, have been neglected.

After all the planning and preparation that has been invested, it is satisfying to know that your guests, some of whom have come far and wide and others who have spared no expense to do so, are being entertained. The new bride will soon be re-instated to her role of hostess but for today the magician has everything under control.

Weddings are delightful in the way that they bring a large family together. Conversation may be a little awkward at first and an ice-breaker is in order. The magician, with a few tricks up his sleeve, weaves in-between the guests as he surprises them with his sleight of hand and a few small miracles. Before you know it, the guests are relaxed and the atmosphere is comfortable and lively. The perfect ambiance for the entrance of the newlyweds satisfied that their commemorative album will be perfect.

Among the family are also close friends of the two. Not only have they not met each other before but they may also not have met the siblings, nieces and cousins effortlessly milling around. Witnessing some close up magic can ignite a conversation topic between two strangers that may lead to an evening of fun and laughter and possibly even a lifetime friendship.

There comes a time in the performance of all magicians where they require the services of a volunteer. This is yet another technique the magician may use at a wedding to familiarize the guests with each other. He may have already noticed some fading into the background or a late comer detached from the festivities.

One may choose for the wedding magician to concentrate more on the time between the church ceremony and the reception while the photographs are being taken. They can also spend some time occupying children and keeping them out of trouble. Though one of the nicest functions of a wedding magician would be the exit performance held right at the time when the just married couple have had enough for the evening. Now it is time to slip out unnoticed while your guests become a captivated audience for the illusionist.

A wedding magician can also make his entrance as the bride and groom attempt to make their exit unnoticed. By distracting the guests and keeping them enthralled by the wonders of this personal performance the magician fills the room with an enjoyment that many will remember far into the future.

You’ll be speaking during your son’s wedding, and that’s one thing you can’t escape being his father. The groom, once a little boy, is now mature enough and ready to receive greater responsibility and challenges in life. In one way or another, you have really contributed to his development as an individual. And, you have this rare chance to talk of how the groom has become the man everybody sees and looks up to today - for you have been there with him in his formative moments.

I am sure that as you think about your son walking down the aisle, you’ll be getting different emotions. What you feel will be more nearly associated to a feeling of combined bliss and pride. You’re happy for your son, for he has actually found the person meant for him. You’re just as proud, knowing you have done something so he will be ready for this monumental leap towards maturity. This kind of mixed feeling is what you will be using as motivation as you write your own astounding wedding speech!

You are allotting time and energy to produce a speech which is full of meaning and amusing. Have you thought of why you’re doing so?

Delivering a message which the audience will enjoy is not something that can gain you some kind of recognition as the “best” wedding speaker of the event. But you are really mindful that a message which highlights the significance of a wondrous moment is an expression of fatherly love which no recognition can equal! We share the same views about father of the groom wedding speeches and toasts. And so, I am sure you will learn a lot from the guidelines I have here:

Guidelines to Composing Brilliant Father of the groom Wedding Speeches

It is really true that the great things start little. What you want to do is compose several drafts of your speech. This will be so much easier when you get access to wonderful speech samples. This activity will let you have different speeches to polish up to finalize one speech.

When you pen your outlines, often think about three parts of your message - the introduction, the body and the concluding part. This way, you will recognize if you are on the right course, and easily determine what you may miss out on.

So that you will not worry about unifying the parts of your speech, you have to use a single theme.

And do you want to stop boredom from getting to your listeners? Add a carefully selected joke. You may also tell a true and funny account. Your story must involve your son, or his partner, or both. Just be sure you’re not embarrassing anyone with your antic or storytelling.

Don’t be troubled about how to put emotions in your speech. Frequently, you just have to be yourself. Though, it is essential to give extra focus to how you express your feelings. Of course you do not want to break the jolly mood of the wedding.

One matter you also have to think about, is the substance of your speech. Here, a nice wedding quote will address your concerns about keeping your speech meaningful. Real good quotes do not even need to be explained, and so they almost always become the introduction of a toast.

Perhaps you want to tell me, “I see your tips helpful. But I don’t suppose it will still be simple for me to write a father of the groom speech which integrates all the factors you cited here.

Hire Bands For Lasting Impressions

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
by Sally Jenkins

Everybody loves a good party, this much is clear. Good parties are created through attentive planning, a fun theme, and plenty of entertainment. One of the best ways to increase the entertainment value of any occasion is to hire bands.

There is surely a band for hire for any conceivable situation. Folks throw parties for every occasion known, and sometimes on every day of the week. Parties are had for celebrating milestones in life, like graduations and new babies, as well as for yearly occasions such as family holidays and honorariums. There are musicians available to provide a fantastic aural landscape to any affair you can imagine.

Perhaps the most important aspect of party planning is who you will invite. A good invitation list almost guarantees a successful bash! The same idea is good to apply to what type of band to use. Some affairs need a vigorous soundtrack while others need calming tones in the background. Whatever type of tunes you need, a band is available to perform for your benefit.

Think about the styles of bands available for hire. There are many sizes and types to choose from. Bands can range from solo acoustic acts to chamber groups to large scale swing and orchestra acts. Some groups play music for dancing, while others play more for ambiance. Whatever you may be seeking for your fete, there is sure to be a band that specializes in that groove.

Choosing the best sounds for a get together is an important aspect of planning. Classic rock and and acid rock have a very different audience appeal than jazzy trios and dubbing duos. Rap has its adherents and they may be quite different from country fans. Party music sets an indelible tone to an affair. Think of a wedding band as compared to a back yard beer bash bar and. With these elements in mind, you can make the wiser choice.

Large performance halls can obviously support a big band and stage set up. But a house party may be limited in size for even a folk duo. The size of the space in which a band is to perform can be either detrimental or beneficial for all involved. For example, you wouldn’t want attendees bumping into musicians while they are performing, and neither would the musicians! Also, too many musicians or instruments can overwhelm the social aspects of a party. A good balance between spaces available and musicians playing in them should be considered beforehand.

Include a band budget in your planning stages. Big bands can cost big dollars, so it is good to consider these fiscal differences. Some musicians expect to be well fed and supplied with drinks when they perform and this will surely add to the expenses. Experienced bands are often more expensive and well worth it, but less experienced bands can be just as great. Look for ways to spend wisely when choosing a musical group, and do the research necessary to find the right one for your needs and budget.

Good music creates good memories. When choosing a band for your fete consider well the impact of good music on good times. The good times can have a lasting impact as well. Good performances cull positive word of mouth for both band members and party hosts. Future party planners and party goers may look to your particular affair with fondness and want to recreate the experience. Music can create great moments and hiring a band should reflect this possibility.

Hiring bands is always a great move. The bands benefit, the party goers benefit, and the host definitely benefits. You can make a long lasting impression with your friends, family, colleagues, and others by taking action to hire bands. Plan on when, where, why, and who and then add in great music for a sure hit.

Five Photos You Have To Have In Your Wedding Album

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
by Aaron Hu

Have you ever looked at someones wedding photo albums and then kicked yourself for not getting the kind of pictures and poses that they have? Do you ever wish you could do it again so that you could make your wedding album more interesting? Is your wedding album so boring that you do not even know where it is and the wedding was only a month ago? Here are five photo ideas that everyone should have in their albums.

One of my very favorite pictures in my photo album is a picture of my wife’s hand in mine on top of a beautifully rich textured Bible. With our fingers entwined, like lovers embracing, our shiny new wedding rings are polished to a high shine and her sparkling diamonds is simply radiating the sunlight in multicolored glory. It is a breathtaking shot that adorns the front outer sleeve of the album. This photo is particularly special as I recently lost my precious ring in an unfortunate accident. So special was this ring to me that even a photo of it makes me nostalgically sad, as if recalling the smile of a lost family member.

Capture your family’s generations. Don’t wait for your wedding to snap this next treasure. Always strive to get a photo of as many generations of your family as possible. Take pictures of your grandmother, your mother, your self, and your daughter for a generational shot that will not be available forever. Have your husband in the same pose with his father and grandfather and your son. While this pictures are important as individual sides and genders get together for what could be the last time, it is just as important to get a shot of all of you, husbands and wives, fathers, mothers, and children together as a group.

Photographers who are well informed about who in the crowd is who will have the best opportunities to get these next shots. If, for instance, your wedding photographer knows who the father of the bride is, he might be able to capture the forlorn look of pride and sadness on his face as he watches his daughter take her first steps towards womanhood and a family of her own, and her first steps away from being his special little girl. There is almost always a special moment when mother and father look at each other during the ceremony and pass between them the unspoken moment that speaks of stepping through a doorway that leads to new chapter in all of their lives.

The moment the officiant announces that he would like to introduce you and your new spouse as Mr. and Mrs. Is usually a perfect opportunity to capture magic from the bride and groom, the parents, grandparents and just about everyone in the room. That is the first time they are spoken of as husband and wife and this is a special moment that many photographers miss.

A photo of the entire family together in one place is rare and the wedding is one of the few opportunities to capture it so do not let it slip by. Take this photo as early in the reception as possible, before anyone has a chance to slip away or gets too much party in them. Seating grandparents and children in the front allows for an exceptional shot.

Live Bands Can Get The Party Started

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
by David Livermore

From metropolis to village it is always the same. In every possible space, stuck on every wall and open area, there are posters and flyers drawing our attention to this weeks local music performances. Though the names on the flyers may change, the essential message never does: come support live local entertainment. These flyers request our presence at shows by live bands. They present the unique sounds of their cities.

Usually, the bands advertised on these handbills are as local as you can get. On a Tuesday night, for example, maybe half a dozen bands will perform sets at the bar down the street. On Fridays and Saturdays, there will be a smaller number of performers, but more popular and well known acts will do their shows. In either case these musicians make for one of a kind events.

Going to see a band at a nightclub, of course, is different than going to see a band at a party or hosted event. At a nightclub, the band cannot be assured of who will turn up and the relationship between performer and audience has to be negotiated effectively by the performers if everyone wants to have a good time. For parties and hosted events, however, this is not the case. The attendees are all invited and the crowd can be counted upon. This makes for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Going to see a live show is always different than a DJ experience. While DJs can pump up a crowd and get everybody dancing, the experience is usually more self-centered. DJs only provide an audio experience, rarely is there anything to look at. Dancers only have themselves to see and sometimes this can make for insecurity. With actual performers however, the best bands actually put on a show, they provide a focus for our attention, and because they are on stage, we in the audience can dance along without feeling so self-conscious.

DJs can get people excited by playing the latest pop hits, but this actually makes the DJ experience an interchangeable one. The hit songs in one part of the country are usually the same as the hit songs in another so there is very little actual individuality in most DJ sets. Moreover, it is rare for a DJ to have extensive tracks by local artists. If you want an act that can more accurately reflect the sounds and tastes of your city, local bands are the way to go.

Local bands can usually cover a fairly wide spectrum of music. If you want rock and roll covers, there are bands for that. If you want Rhythm and Blues, there are bands to fit your needs. If you want country and western, you can find that too.

Most importantly, having actual live performers is great because they connect to something primal deep within us. Our earliest ancestors learned how to make music together, to sing and to dance as a community. Even now, when we gather to hear musicians perform, that essential human experience comes forward and brings us together in a way that no other activity can.

All in all, live bands are an asset for any party. They can make every event an enjoyable one.

Portable Toilets - A Real Life Saver !

by Orlando Rodriguez

Everyone’s seen a portable toilet and is familiar with their nickname. Everyone, who’s ever been to an outdoor concert, a wedding on the beach or has had some exposure to the construction industry. Construction sites and camping sites are the two places where these Porta Potty toilet units are most commonly seen, used and appreciated.

Toileting can be a difficult problem in remote locations, and the portable toilet manufacturers bringing out some fantastically innovative designs to help suit your needs. If you are a camper you will likely be aware of the portable toilets provided on camp sites, but many campers like to take their own. For large parties and wedding events, there are a range of portable toilet for rental or sale.

It would obviously be uneconomical to make purchases of portable toilets for single events. Finding a company that can provide rental off the appropriate amount of portable bath rooms is a good way to save money, and not to be left with a large number of toilets to have to find a home for.

There are many models and types of portable toilets that are available. These range from the larger units that are attached to the back of trailers and are pretty much replicas of any decent rest room that you would find in a modern hotel to multiple units attached together with just enough space to qualify as a urinal. These multiple units in the same ‘box’ are available in a variety of configurations.

From a financial point of view, you need to weigh up the duration of time you will need the units on-site. If it’s going to be for a month or two, then buying them outright is probably the best way to go, and selling them off to your needs are fulfilled. Quite often you may get to sell them back to the company you purchased them from. This is certainly the cheap way to go to avoid long rental periods.

These portable toilet units are really amazing these days. I’d certainly recommend them for any large event. The rental cost is low and they certainly save muddy footprints in and out of your home if you are having a large party.
