You must always carry about an air of professionalism when doing your work. You should dress accordingly and act professionally to impress your clients and ensure them that you really know your job. You can give samples to the couple and have a talk with them so that they will know what they can expect from you and they will have a glimpse of the results.
You should also be like a Scout – always prepared! This means that you should have everything ready before the actual date. Nowadays, photographers use digital cameras because they are much more convenient to use compared to other types of cameras. But you should have a back up camera just in case the other one suddenly jams. Make sure that your batteries are fully charged and bring spare batteries and adequate memory devices, lenses you will be using, lighting, extra bulbs, tripods and any other things that you will be needing.
You should also know, as the wedding photographer, about the wedding program and how everything will flow. It is also important that you know what moments to capture. Prioritize the bride and the groom when taking pictures. Next up would be their family members and close friends and then the guests. Take as many pictures as you can. Surplus of pictures is better than shortage of pictures. Since you are using digital cameras, you won’t lose anything and you will have many choices on what to print. Be sure that the date you agreed on delivering your work will give you enough time to produce high-quality work because your reputation will depend on it.
When taking pictures, do it with care. Make sure that you adjust the lighting and the camera functions if needed so that you can produce great photos. When it is a church wedding, you might not be allowed to use flash, but to be sure, ask about this so that you can use the flash if needed. It is also important that you double or triple check your work before sending them to your customer.
