Finding The Right Wedding Professional For You
What does a wedding professional do? They help brides plan their weddings. They might help for a few days as the wedding day approaches, or they might be your guide through the entire wedding process. While the wedding professional’s job is to help you with your wedding, your job as the bride is to make sure you choose the best wedding professional for you.
Choosing the person that is right for you should take a little time. As a bride, you should interview several people, look at their work, talk to their clients and then sit down with them. Talk to your wedding professional. Do they understand what you want to create with your wedding? Are you on the same page with what constitutes a beautiful design? Some people prefer a contemporary design, while others specialize in traditional weddings.
Can you explain what you want? Think about what colors you want to use, if there’s a wedding theme you have in mind, or if there are certain flowers you want to use as a focal point. Have some information ready when you meet with your wedding planner so they know where to begin.
Wedding planners may seem like they create magic as your perfect wedding comes together, but it takes a lot of hard work. Those that do it best get paid well for their time. As with most things in life, you do get what you pay for. If you want to spend $100.00, you might get a little help or direction. If you can budget several thousand dollars, then you can have someone work with you throughout the entire process.
In order to find out how other people have enjoyed working with your wedding professional, you can start by looking at places like Wedding Wire. This is where people rate their experiences. More and more brides are turning here to find out information for whom to work with.
The best way to gauge a company is to look at the majority of reviews. Most places will have one or two people that weren’t as satisfied as the others. It might depend on how their day was going when they wrote the review, or that their expectations were higher than what they were promised. So look at all the reviews and see how they stack up next to other wedding professionals.
You might also want to consult previous customers. Did they have a good experience? Did anything go wrong, if so, what was it? What was the best part of their experience? If a wedding planner tries to steer you away from talking to anyone who has worked with him or her – it may not be a good sign.
Once you have cost, reviews, interviews and met with a few wedding planners it’s time to make up your mind. Go with your gut instinct. If you liked one planner over another, but you aren’t sure why, trust yourself. Then don’t look back. Have fun with the process, have fun with your girlfriends and family!
