Buy Jewelry Online – Pendant Jewelry
I fell in love with pendants when I was a little girl. My grandmother had a true amber pendant. When I was three or four she held it up to my eye and turned me by the chin until I was looking at the sun. The curve of the amber acted like binoculars looked through from the small end and it was as if the amber held the sun itself inside it.
As a wedding present, my grandmother gave me a number of beautiful items from her jewelry box. Among them was the amber pendant I so coveted as a child. That was my start as a serious collector. Over time, I have acquired my own pendant jewelry pieces to add to my collection. Eventually my daughter will get these as she’s displayed the same fascination with pendants as I did.
I am an avid collector pendant jewelry. I scour the countryside for flea markets and estate auctions. Be warned, it is an expensive hobby, but one that is vastly satisfying. Now with the rising popularity of pendant collecting, it’s become a greater challenge finding pieces to add to my collection, Have you seen the Oscars? The gowns were lovely, but notice the jewelry worn by many of the women. The way a pendant draws the eye is testament to its enduring appeal and beauty.
Of course pendant jewelry collecting requires an outlay of money, so in time, I realized I had to sell some pieces in order to acquire others. It all started when I saw I single ruby drop pendant that was way out of my budget. But I had to have it. I sold three pendant and earrings sets to buy this orphan (no chain, no earrings) that is, in my educated opinion, one of the most beautiful pieces of pendant jewelry ever made. I used the internet and soon found myself well able to afford this masterpiece.
My own collection of pendant jewelry has become more varied and valuable thanks to the world wide web. Using the internet, I have located sellers of rare and unique pieces that I would never be able to obtain in my neck of the woods. At the same time, I have found grateful buyers for pieces that I am willing to part with at the right price.
Recently I attended an estate sale while vacationing in Europe. The area’s population includes family lines that have been in the region since time immemorial – a perfect hunting ground for antique jewelry. For less than $100, I picked up a chandelier pendant that I have since resold for three times what I paid.
I’ve had my share of mistakes when it comes to collecting pendant jewelry. I don’t consider myself an expert by any means. I know what appeals to me and have an idea of what will go well with my own collection. I still need to refer to various resources for valuation, but for the most part, I’ve managed to come out ahead. Even with my mistakes, there is usually another collector looking for that exact piece, so go figure!
