Benefits Of Wedding Insurance
Wedding Insurance is sometimes thought of as insurance for worriers. Most people plan their wedding believing nothing can go wrong. Most of the time they are right, but when things go wrong, they can go very, very wrong. These are the times that wedding insurance comes in handy. For a few hundred dollars, wedding insurance takes the risk out of planning a wedding. Most brides think the horror stories can’t happen to them, but there are a few things that are out of anyone’s control and can ruin a wedding.
But what happens if the day of the wedding, the bride or groom or family member gets into a car accident, or breaks a leg and the wedding has to be postponed? Without insurance, the bride and groom are responsible for all the deposits to caterers, florists, photographers and more. This can costs thousands.
Another thing that can’t be controlled is the weather. Hurricanes, flash flooding and snowstorms have all caused weddings to be canceled. Sometimes it’s because the bridal party can’t get to the venue, flights get canceled, etc. Sometimes it’s because the venue is destroyed. Wedding insurance generally only costs a couple hundred dollars. The security that comes with that is priceless.
Other scenarios to consider are venues that are under construction during your wedding. Some venues may refuse to refund deposits. Some vendors may go out of business between the time they are booked and the day of the wedding. You may never see a penny of what you gave them.
Insurance will cover you in case the wedding venue suffers damages as a result of the wedding celebration. Examples of this can include wine spilled over a carpet, dishes broken, drapes torn. With insurance, having fun is all you have to focus on. If something breaks it’s not the end of the world.
While vendors are usually professional, some are not reputable. Those vendors may promise services and never follow through on them. They may not show up on the wedding day and a last minute scramble to find a replacement can cost time and extra money. If a dress doesn’t make it on time, insurance will cover you to buy another one. If there is no cake on the wedding day, insurance will pay for another cake. If the dress is stained or torn, the pictures ruined, you can be assured you will be reimbursed.
Some people don’t believe in insurance, but some people rest better at night knowing they have insurance, that if the unlikely happens, they won’t have to worry. The cost of the insurance usually outweighs the stress of having something happen at the last minute.
Weddings are not inexpensive ventures. They generally cost upwards of $25,000.00. For several hundred dollars, you can protect yourself against anything going wrong. The only thing insurance won’t cover is a canceled wedding because of a change of heart.
