9 Spring Wedding Favors that Symbolize the Love for Life

Sunday, May 25th, 2008
by Chrissy Defour

In Spring the Earth comes alive again. What better season of the year to hold your wedding? Naturally, you’ll want your spring wedding favors to have that same spirit: full of enthusiasm for the coming warmth, filled with life and the joy it brings.

Spring harmonizes what is beautiful with what is practical. You too can embrace this principle when choosing your spring wedding favors.

You might decorate the table with gifts for the guests by offering salt and pepper shakers in the shape of peas. Held together in a dish resembling a pod, they’ll grace many a guest’s table long after the wedding.

Look to the flowers to add beauty. Your wedding celebration will be filled with them. Your spring wedding favors should continue the theme.

An elegant wine bottle stopper made to resemble a lily is an outstanding choice. Provide two in a small box that represents a miniature planter. Wrap the gift with a ribbon that looks like a rope used to support the stem and you’ve got a complete wedding favor gift package.

Spring will spontaneously bring to mind walks through lovely gardens. Along the way you’ll find a tin pail or watering can to pour water, or rose petals strewn along the path. Pick up on the idea and turn it into wedding favor gifts for your guests.

Guests will always appreciate floral-scented candles that continue exuding sweetness even after your wedding day. Rose garden candles will endear you to the recipients. Alternatively, you can get small vases to hold real flowers and present them as your spring wedding favors. Or, get little bottles and fill them with essential oil which your guests can add to their baths.

As the plants become active, so do the animals that live with them. Here is yet another spring-oriented theme that can be used to perfection for wedding favors.

Dove-shaped glass tealights will cause your guests to swoon with love as you did. Use the colors of Spring - delicate greens, bright blue, subtle pink - to add color to the table and the gift. Select some votives to go with them and add a delicate aroma that speaks of love awakening.

Preparing for a spring wedding need not be stressful; have fun with it! Be playful with your ideas, pick place card holders in bright hues to make them pop and brighten the guests moods in finding their seats. You can give away garden party flip flops; your guests can take these spring wedding favors home, always reminding them of that fun time they had that spring day.

Glass coasters are elegant, stylish and timeless, and make for great spring wedding favors. Pick your design carefully, taking care that they go well with your spring theme wedding. To personalize the glass coasters, just have your names engraved and also the date of the wedding. This serves with a dual purpose of keeping the tabletop clean and a memorabilia.

Spring is a time of new beginnings and never ending choices. Celebrate spring and rejoice in your love.

Marriage License Search Online

Sunday, May 25th, 2008
by Ben Jen

Marriage is a much more serious affair than it’s been treated. In the US, the state steps in to help make the point. Like other cosmopolitan environments, there are variations among the ethnic and religious groups in joining people in matrimony. The requirements can also differ from state to state but people other than the couple are always involved. Yes, there will be a conducting official. Legal witnesses of the ceremony are also required in certain states. Even God and deceased ancestors may also be involved by religious and customary practices.

Rejection and protest from certain religious groups or beliefs notwithstanding, it is mandated by law that a marriage can only legally proceed after a Marriage License has been obtained from the state authorities. The requisites for application are typically age, identity, residency, medical examinations and clearance from any previous marriages if any. They can be issued by the state of residence of the couple or where the marriage ceremony is planned to be officially conducted. Fees are usually nominal but lead time can be long, up to a month in some states. After the ceremony, the license is then signed off by the new couple and the official to file for certification and the issuance of the Marriage Certificate.

Both the license and certificate are then entered as marriage records into the respective files of the new spouses. They will then be maintained as public records at the county or state where the marriage has taken place, whichever is the prevailing practice. Being public records, they will be subject to public retrieval and search as long as procedures are complied with and fees are paid.

Same-sex, or gay marriages are a little bit trickier. They are recognized in less than half the states. A handful others are fuzzy about it, recognizing them as legal union and offering explicit marriage rights and responsibilities while not calling them marriages. Be prepared for some surprises with such states.

There are basically two types of service we can turn to for marriage license or record search, the free public offices and the paid providers. Free services tend to be discrete and scattered so it can be quite time-consuming and tedious. Paid versions come at different levels of professionalism. The better rated ones can deliver very comprehensive reports. Over and above public resources, many have access to private and privileged databases.

Conducting public marriage records search is often contentious. Except for super-snoops, people have better things to do than prying others’ private lives. It is usually done on those who are more than acquaintance, and ironically with whom we relate with fondness. Inherently, it infringes the expectation of trust. Tussle between the sense and the feelings, there is never an outright correct answer.

Free Divorce Records Online

by Ben Jen

Statistically, about half the marriages in the country end up in divorce. That’s why it makes sense to be sure about your partner’s divorce background whenever engagement or marriage is on the horizon. It’s no trouble at all nowadays to run a quick free divorce record check on someone. Whether it’s for your self or on behalf of somebody else, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

A great deal of information can be derived from Divorce Records. They contain the personal particulars of the separating spouses and children such as names, ages and birth dates. Marriage date, place and even time and who performed the solemnization or ceremony may also be available. Financial information, custody, alimony, restraining orders, filing numbers, final decree and so forth, where applicable, are all key divorce records.

A divorce record search can also be used to determine the official marital status. This is important especially if someone is intending to remarry. In order to remarry, someone has to be legally divorced from the previous marriage to be eligible. Often, people fail to follow through on formalizing and legalizing their divorce, especially in cases when it was uncontested and a response was not filed. Also, only certified copies of the divorce certificate is acceptable in most cases, thus entailing a longer waiting time in the application of the divorce records.

Divorce records are legislated as one of the public vital records. As such, anybody’s divorce records are rightfully accessible by anyone as long as procedures are followed. They can be requested in person, by mail, telephone, fax or online through the internet at the responsible government agency tasked with the function. Of all the options available, the online method is by far the most popular way to retrieve divorce records.

There are basically two versions of online divorce records. The first version is the free-of-charge (FOC) version which is obtainable from government sources and, to some degree, commercial providers as promotions or enticements. Such online divorce records will just about suffice for exploratory and other casual purposes. The second version is the fee-based one from commercial information brokers. It is recommended when the search is more purposeful, especially when it’s serious or formal. It is also generally of higher standards and unlike public sources which tend to be disparate and non- standardized, come with plug-and-play readiness.

Fee-based online divorce records are abundantly available on the internet. There are very good value-for-money to be found if you incur a little patience to shop around a little bit. Competition is keen so fees are really reasonable. Another approach is to check out the various review sites. The top-tier ones are typically very professional in their reviews and recommendations. They do get their cut from the referrals but they have also to put in their due diligence for that.

by Jenny Palmer

Wedding plans and marriage arrangements will never be complete and would go on and on even till the marriage function is over. But following few wedding plan tips can be of great use and the marriage function can be made successful this way. It is also essential to see to that the wedding plan tips you follow should also be practical and simple. The point is that it should help you in making the process simple and does not work the other way. Below listed are few tips which would help you in making the process simple and the occasion even more grand and organized.

The very basic wedding plan tip which has to be adhered and followed first is to prepare a checklist with all tasks to be completed listed in it. It is true that this list would keep on increasing but at least by the end of the day you would have a rough idea about what needs to be done. These marriage tasks can then be categorized in to various sections such as food, decoration, invitation, clothes, etc.

Most of the wedding plan tips will not talk about the secondary list you need to form of your primary checklist. The secondary list should be categorized in terms of the places you may have to visit for the marriage preparation. When you have such a list then you will be able to club tasks those have to be accomplished in the same area and you will save both your energy and time.

All of us would like our wedding day to be a grand one without any mess ups so we tend to spend a lot of time on trivial things. So the next in the wedding plan tips is follow the rule of simplicity. There is always beauty in simple things. Just the wedding process itself can bring in a lot of tension, if you complicate it further with other trivial things then it can become too much to handle. You will become too tired to enjoy your marriage day.

The next in wedding plan tips come the point which insists the couple to start the marriage arrangements well in advance. Giving good enough time, at least twelve months time, would be good. This would give you enough time to plan and arrange for the marriage and as well get you time for mentally getting ready for the marriage.

Getting help for jobs which can be done by anyone should certainly be delegated. Spending time such tasks would be a waste. This is one important point amongst various other wedding plan tips. You can just supervise the tasks and give your comments and input. This would reduce the physical and mental pressure to a certain extent and would help you in enjoying the marriage function.

The assignment of tasks can as well be marked in the task list you prepare. These tasks can be delegated to attendants whom you can hire or to family members or friends. Wedding plan tips like these, though doesn’t sound any special, certainly have their own value and effect as much of the job would be transferred to others this way. Now you would get more time to plan well for the marriage and concentrate more on tasks which can be done only by you.

Above all the wedding plan tips, the most important thing is that you have to constantly remind yourself that it is not another work or chore that you are performing so that you can get it done with it. You are preparing just not for a day’s celebration but for your marriage day that you can remember all your life. Remember to stay tuned to your inner feelings during this special time of marriage preparations and give priority to your gut feelings over any and all of the wedding plan tips.

Different Types Of Weddings

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008
by Kay Brown

Marriage is a union of two people that starts with a ceremony that is called a wedding; our concept of a marriage has seen many adjustments over the last few years. The ceremony is an opportunity to perform a traditional service and celebrate with friends and family. The marriage certificate must be signed at the end of the service for the law to legitimize the couple’s relationship. The names bridegroom and bride extend around the world; once they are married they known as the wife and husband.

Religious Wedding Services

Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Traditionally the church is the most popular venue, where the ceremony is presided over by a Christian priest. The traditional white wedding as we know it is really only a service that is popular in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and some other Commonwealth countries.

Twin Ceremonies

Although unusual a double marriage is a where two couples are married at the same time; this type of ceremony is often organized by a person that has a sibling that wants to get married with them at the same time, having a double ceremony.

Destination Wedding Ceremonies

Marriages in foreign countries are called destination weddings where guests can arrive either just before the ceremony or actually travel with the couple; destination weddings automatically conjure up exotic countries but it could just as easily be a themed wedding in Las Vegas to qualify for that title.

Weekend Break Weddings

Whilst it is quite normal for the Irish to have three day weddings, more couples are taking the hint and having theirs over a weekend which gives them more time to enjoy the occasion. To cater for this expanding market a number of companies can arrange special themed occasions that incorporate anything from golf to surfing. For many people that have outdoor interests this can be a lot of fun and the guests can stay for the entire weekend with them to extend the occasion and have a lot more fun.

Getting Married on the Internet

An online wedding is conducted on the internet which can resemble a normal ceremony. Internet companies specializing in this type of ceremony are there to help you with your marriage. Marriages that are broadcast live online are also referred to as online weddings and friends can view it from anywhere in the world.

Marriages without Religious Representation

Local civil authority services are called civil weddings as they do not take place in a church and must be performed by a locally elected or appointed official. Although it may sound clinical, civil ceremonies usually make no reference to God. Often, this type of service will take place in a judge’s chambers, town or city hall or any other specially designated place.

The information here is to help give people who live primarily in the Western world, a better comprehension of just what a wedding really is. But in reality, when you take in to consideration that there are many foreign types of wedding ceremonies, you’ll understand we hardly scratched the surface here.

Fun Food For The Bridal Shower

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008
by Sarah Roberts

When planning food for a bridal shower, there are plenty of things that you can serve. Likewise, there are some things that should be avoided. The center of attraction is obviously the bride. So find out what she likes best and what she doesn’t like. Refrain from serving foods that can trigger off allergies. Ask the guests if they have any food allergies or special diets so they can be omitted.

Now for the fun part. Presumably you have a theme for the bridal shower so try and see that at least a few of the dishes fit into this. Besides that, a good idea would be to have a brunch party, preferably on a Sunday so it could stretch into a long, lazy afternoon. If it is informal, that would be nice because it will give all the guests a chance to move around and get to know each other. You could have a corner of fresh breads and another of fresh fruits. A lot of people have been serving bite size quiche and this could be a great idea. You could have the drinks counter on one side with a punch and cocktails as well as fresh fruit juices and coffee. Fruit based desserts like strawberries that are chocolate coated and lemon squares could finish it off quite well.

If an evening shower is preferable, then a casserole is perfect. You can mingle whilst it is cooking. Better still. a casserole can be prepared beforehand. All you need to do is to heat and serve. Another idea is lasagna, served up with a bowl of green salad. Food like this is great for an evening do as it can be made up earlier in the day. It means you’re not stuck in the kitchen as your guests arrrive. If that is too heavy a meal then a smoked or grilled dish can be served. It only takes an occasional peek in the kitchen whilst it is cooking.

Do try and find out before the party if anyone is a vegan or a vegetarian so that you can serve up food to suit them too. For a casserole or lasagna, all you need to do is make a vegetarian option as well and you could also check the Internet for recipes.

Cake is traditionally served as a dessert at a bridal shower. Many people today though are moving away from tradition so feel free to break away and have something different as a dessert. You could consider offering pies or fresh fruit. What about a chocolate fountain as a centerpiece. These can be easily rented for the evening.

Maybe you would prefer something lighter. Finger food is great. You can have a table filled with plenty of light bites that people can just help themselves to, thus enabling them to walk around and talk to the others. Some ideas to serve are cheese and crackers, dips, tiny muffins and similar items.

Ultimately the choice rests on you and the bride but by choosing the right food will ensure you have a great bridal or wedding shower.

Wedding Photo Album Tips

Monday, May 19th, 2008
by James B. Markus

Wedding photo albums may not have changed much over the years but newer methods of displaying them are being invented all the time. The modern photo albums contain portraits of the bride alone with her dress arranged for the picture; her mother’s album probably has a similar picture and there may even be a close resemblance. It is also tradition to find a beautiful spot close to where the couple was married to take some pictures of them together placing these images next in the album.

Next comes a picture of the entire wedding party all dressed up for the occasion; they will be placed next in the wedding photo album. The whole group is made up of friends and family of the bride and groom; there is probably a very similar picture in their parent’s album. Next the images of the bride with her bridesmaids and other attendants that helped her on the day.

The family of the groom poses for a picture that ends up in the album, and there is another one of the bride with her family. Wedding photo albums should also have a mention as they need to be as elaborate as the ceremony otherwise they will not do justice to the care which is taken over the photographs. Wedding photo albums are normally elaborate to complement the ceremony itself with elaborate covers that tend to be in white.

It is just as important for the contents of the wedding album to impress and this is achieved by clever display techniques that show the day off at its best. Most modern wedding photographers will also be able to supply in digital form on a cd or dvd. Most modern couples will have both the traditional album and the newer digital versions together because unlike the former, compact discs etc. can hold hundreds of images.

If guests want to have a copy, they can have all the images and not just their favorite few; these can be stored in presentation boxes for later viewing as a digital wedding photo album. There are a number of benefits to this because not only can the images be viewed as normal but also printed out in the traditional manner at home or at a regular photo printing store. Modern technology has improved upon the albums from long ago with the addition of pictures available on the latest digital photo frames

What Does a White Rose Mean

Monday, May 19th, 2008
by Elizabeth Crosthon

Roses are gorgeous flowers, captivating and are always in style. Roses come in a variety of colors, each color signifying a different thought. Giving a rose to someone is a great way to articulate your deepest emotions.

The white rose bloom is easily one of the most popular wedding flowers. The color white conveys purity, honesty, fidelity, peace and integrity. The white flower is valued for its considerable beauty and detail. However, though they can convey deep emotions, due to the varied levels of meanings, one must be careful in choosing the color of their flowers.

Because white is the color of purity and innocence, these roses are presented with a clear conscience and without any ill will. Unlike red roses, which denote passion, white roses are symbols of spirituality and the eternal love that lives within the soul. This flower is often referred to as the “flower of light.” White roses represent devotion, modesty, and companionship in love.

During the wedding of Queen Victoria in the year 1840, white rose bouquets were very significant, and since then the tradition has continued. In modern day weddings, most of the brides carry a bouquet of white roses throughout the wedding ceremony. Brides also take these roses to indicate their virginity and innocence.

Also, these flowers can symbolize the traditional Victorian attributes of women: modesty and purity. A white rose bud, though, can symbolize those virtues in a unique way. It can stand for a girl who isn’t old enough to experience romantic love. This kind of girl isn’t a teenager yet, and is viewed as innocent and untainted. Like the white rose bud, she is sweet, graceful, and pure.

The white rose, or fascinating blue one, also signifies discretion. This color rose is an excellent way to show the recipient that they are delightful to be around, and are a dear friend. The color of a rose is important, and one should learn the meaning behind each color to understand the intricate meaning that may be conveyed.

These roses symbolize many virtuous qualities and traits we all highly treasure and wish we possess ourselves: loyalty, unity, honor, honesty, holiness, and truth. Roses are also the color of spirituality, making them peerless wedding adornments and flower of choice. Weddings represent love, loyalty, unity, new beginnings and spirituality, all great, awesome, qualities shared by our roses.
